2019 NFL Scouting Combine: Three safeties to watch | Silver and Black Pride
The Raiders could improve this position but the depth isn’t going to last into the late rounds. If Mayock wants a safety chances are it will have to come by round 4 at the latest to find an impact player. Here are a few names that could land on the Raiders in April’s draft.
Metcalf has done very well for himself in Indianapolis, running a sizzling 4.33 second 40 yard dash. Body beautiful in every sense of the phrase he benched 27 reps of 225 pounds, stands at 6-foot-3 and 3/8” weighs 228 pounds and has an unimaginable 1.6% body fat percentage. Here are five reasons why the Raiders need to resist getting caught up in the hype of the combine politics and draft him with the #4 pick.
Raiders mailbag: Are they really shopping Derek Carr? | Mercury News
I know what Bleacher Report said and I know what Peter King said on the Dan Patrick Show, but after a week in Indy I fully expect Carr to be the Raiders’ quarterback in 2019. Gruden said Wednesday that Carr is “our franchise quarterback,” and from being around Gruden often for the last year-plus, I believe him.
Arden Key wants Raiders to draft LSU’s Devin White | 247sports
Most of the NFL will be in pursuit of the LSU linebacker after this weekend, including the Buccaneers and other defensive-needy teams. The Raiders could be among this list, especially considering another young star. Arden Key, another former LSU defender, came to Oakland as a rookie in 2018 and will be looking to make an impact during his second year. As it turns out, he has also been campaigning for the Raiders to bring White to town in order to make this defense even better.

Unlikely Chargers make attempt to trade for QB Josh Rosen | Chargers Wire
When you look at the history of the moves that the Chargers have made since Telesco took over in 2013, it doesn’t show anything promising that would see him make a move like this. Instead, his moves in the offseason are rather conservative, not splashy.
That said, Shelton looked like a completely different player with the Patriots than with the Browns. That initially might scare some teams off. Because that’s always the case, it seems like. Shelton’s snap counts were limited. He played 324 with the Patriots. For reference, Brandon Mebane played 405 snaps. From week 16 through the Super Bowl, PFF graded Shelton at an 83.4, which is above average.
Another pass rusher? Yes, Broncos could use depth after Von Miller, Bradley Chubb | Denver Post
If the Broncos needed immediate, every-down help at outside linebacker, their decision would have been made Sunday by watching Mississippi State’s Montez Sweat run the 40-yard dash at the scouting combine.

Cowboys franchise tag DE DeMarcus Lawrence | NFL.com
The Dallas Cowboys are placing the franchise tag on defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported Monday, per a source. The team later made the news official.
There is almost no chance that this year’s draft will match last year’s mark of five quarterbacks taken in the first round. But with names like Murray, Dwayne Haskins, Daniel Jones, and Drew Lock available and plenty of teams still in need of a trustworthy signal caller, there is still plenty of intrigue to follow at the top of the board.
Giants unlikely to tag safety Landon Collins | NFL.com
New York reportedly loves Collins as a player but view the tag number for safeties ($11.15 million) as too high. If their impasse holds, he’s expected to be free, Rapoport added.
We might as well call this the Post-Combine Hype Machine Mock Draft because so many players -- on both sides of the ball -- had a spectacular week in Indianapolis. (And our latest mock draft comes out before the defensive backs even take the field.)
