When the offseason started for the Arizona Cardinals, there were reports they would like some players back.
Based on the contracts that they received from other teams with the moves the Cardinals made, those reports may not have been the most accurate.
Let’s take a look at where some of the bigger names from the Arizona Cardinals have gone.
Markus Golden to New York Giants: Golden signed a one-year deal for $3.75 million from the Giants. Golden has been a nice secondary pass rusher and strong player against the run. Getting back with James Bettcher should help him get his stock back up.
Deone Bucannon to Tampa Bay Buccaneers: In keeping with the theme of reuniting, Bucannon gets back to Bruce Arians and Todd Bowles to try and rectify his career. A minimal deal on one-year $2.5 million.
Oday Aboushi to Detroit Lions: Aboushi was a nice swing guard for the Cardinals and ended up not being terrible... Which is saying something based on last year. One-year $2 million.
J.J. Nelson to Oakland Raiders: $1 million for the speedster with the drops. By the way, you know who is one of the worst quarterbacks in the NFL throwing deep? You know who is really good throwing deep coming out in the 2019 NFL Draft? Not saying... Just saying...
Antoine Bethea to New York Giants: Bettcher gets his defensive play caller in the backfield.
Olsen Pierre to New York Giants: James Bettcher collecting Cardinals like Thanos collecting infinty stones.
Mike Iupati to Seattle Seahawks: Trading Iuapti for Sweezy is basically trading 2016 Iupati for current day Iupati. No one is blocking anyone in the passing game. At least one will be on the field consistently.
