The Lions have doubled up on tight ends with a late-round pick.
With the 224th pick of the 2019 NFL Draft, the Detroit Lions have selected Georgia tight end Isaac Nauta. This is their first seventh round pick.
Nauta played three seasons for the Bulldogs, tallying up 38 receptions for 905 yards and eight touchdowns in 33 games played. He set career highs almost across the board in 2018 catching 30 passes for 430 yards and three touchdowns.
The tight end was a five star recruit coming out of Florida’s IMG Academy, and chose to return to the state of his birth for college when he committed to Georgia.
He is the second tight end selected by the Lions in the 2019 draft, behind first round pick T.J. Hockenson.
