The Buccaneers finish their draft by picking
The Buccaneers have finished out there draft with a pick in the trenches on the defensive side of the ball, selecting Missouri defensive tackle Terry Beckner Jr. That means out of the Bucs’ eight picks, six of them were on the defense.
Beckner played four years at Missouri, finishing with 120 tackles, 13.5 sacks, 32 tackles for loss, one interception, one forced fumble, two fumble recoveries, and four passes defensed. Beckner finished eighth in the SEC in sacks in 2017 with seven.
Here is his scouting report from NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein;
Beckner has flashes where his ability and football instincts can take over in spurts, but he struggles to sustain it. He’s strong and has enough athleticism to compensate for his lower body stiffness when taking on double teams, but he gets put on skates and washed out when he gets blocked on the move. If he can improve his hands, that should help, but his medicals could be a concern moving forward.
