14 key contributors suffered an injury where they had to miss time last year.
For the first time in roughly three months, the San Francisco 49ers will be together as a unit again. The team begins their voluntary workout phase today in Santa Clara. The 49ers are also hosting their local Pro Day on Wednesday. As for the workout phase today, some of the players are clearly excited.

Kicker Robbie Gould has not signed his franchise tender, so he will not be there on Monday.
Injury list
Looking back at the injuries that happened in 2018, it was quite the laundry list for Niners. Just look at the secondary:
Adrian Colbert-Ankle injury caused him to miss second half of season
Jasquiski Tartt-Nerve issue in his shoulder caused him to miss the final four games.
Jimmie Ward-IR in four of his five seasons. Latest injury was his forearm
Ahkello Witherspoon-Knee injury caused his season to be cut short.
Jason Verrett-Achilles/knee injuries have caused him to play only five games in three years.
Richard Sherman-Suffered an Achilles injury that limited him to 80% in 2018.
So, yeah. That’s just about everyone. To say the 49ers were bitten by the injury bug last year is the understatement of the year. That’s before we get into their offensive skill players. The front office took a chance during free agency, too. With the recent injury luck, it’s certainly a decision to keep an eye on.
While the workouts mostly consist of strength and conditioning, rehabilitation and diving into the playbook, this is the first time the team will be together since the season ended. 22 other teams begin their workout phase today as well.
