So when Mahomes put on a Texas Tech shirt for the championship game and posed for a photo with Dick Vitale, he revealed a small modification. He covered the Under Armour logo with tape and wrote “Adidas” on it with a Sharpie.
“I don’t just want to be satisfied with being an NFL player, I want to find ways to overachieve in every aspect of the game, and that’s what Essentia has been doing,” Mahomes tells Yahoo Lifestyle. “I knew that it was going to be a great partnership from the beginning.
Ranking all 32 NFL offensive lines by pass-blocking efficiency | Pro Football Focus
2018 pass-blocking efficiency: 88.0
With the help of one of the best tackle duos in the NFL, the Kansas City Chiefs allowed 141 total pressures from their 641 passing plays in 2018 but allowed just 13 sacks on the year, which tied with the Rams and the Steelers for the fourth-best mark among teams.
When’s the last time each NFL team drafted a quarterback in the 1st round? | SB Nation
2017
Chicago Bears: Mitchell Trubisky
Kansas City Chiefs: Patrick Mahomes
Houston Texans: Deshaun Watson
All three of these players look like they’ll keep their respective teams from using a first-round pick on a quarterback over the next decade.
Bink Chiefs mock 6.0 | 610 Sports Radio
The draft is coming up April 25th through 27 so we are getting close. I would rather see the Chiefs stay at 29 and go corner and trade for edge in round 2. Just don’t see the value in waisting picks for somebody that might not be a difference maker.
Chiefs lineman recently completed internship for Missouri Sen. Josh Hawley | Kansas City Star
Offensive lineman Ryan Hunter didn’t appear in a game for the Chiefs in the 2018 season, but he’s got a good story to tell his teammates when they begin their offseason work.
Hunter, who signed as an undrafted free agent from Bowling Green, worked as an intern for Missouri Sen. Josh Hawley as part of the NFL Players’ Association’s Externship program. The NFLPA describes the opportunity as a chance to “learn the ins and outs of politics, the legislative process, and ways you can create positive change and enhance social justice in your communities.”

Chris Harris Jr. could get a new deal, but it won’t be without a bumpy ride | ESPN
But if the negotiations with the high-profile players who came before him are any indication, it most certainly will be far from a smooth ride. So, Harris has not reported for the Broncos’ voluntary offseason program because he’d like a contract extension, and Elway has said he won’t address it until after the draft.
“Once we get through the draft, we’ll see where we are, we’ll see where we are budget-wise,” Elway said.
Jack Del Rio on Khalil Mack: ‘You keep those guys’ | NFL
Former Oakland Raiders head coach Jack Del Rio ended his silence on the blockbuster trade that sentoutside linebacker Khalil Mack to the Chicago Bears in September 2018.
During a Monday appearance on NFL Network’s Up to the Minute program, Del Rio admitted the Raiders received “good value” out of the deal. And he has a good point when considering the Bearssent first-round draft picks in 2019 and 2020, a third-rounder in 2020 and a 2019 sixth-rounder in exchange for Mack and a 2020 second-round pick and a conditional 2020 fifth-round selection.
Cards re-sign DT Gunter, add 2 AAF O-linemen | ESPN
The Arizona Cardinals re-signed defensive tackle Rodney Gunter to a one-year contract on Monday.
The Cardinals also signed offensive linemen Andrew Lauderdale (Arizona Hotshots) and Jeremiah Poutasi (Salt Lake City Stallions), who had both played in the Alliance of American Football.
DeMarcus Lawrence expects to miss preseason after shoulder surgery | NBC Sports
The rehab timeline for that surgery stretches well into the summer and Lawrence said on The Rich Eisen Show Monday that he expects to miss the preseason with designs on being ready to go in Week One.
Aaron Rodgers on article: ‘This was a smear attack’ | NFL
Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers didn’t have a voice in a highly-circulated article written by Tyler Dunne of Bleacher Report late last week.
One thing, however, became evident Monday when the Packers’ signal-caller was given a platform to publicly respond to the article on The Wilde and Tausch radio show on ESPN Milwaukee: Rodgers wasn’t holding back.
”The thing is about this article it’s not a mystery, this was smear attack by a writer looking to advance his career, talking with mostly irrelevant, bitter players who all have an agenda, rather they’re advancing their own careers or just trying to stir old stuff up,” Rodgers said. “Then what happens is the same tired media folks picking it up and talking about it. It’s just emphasizing their opinion about me already.
Christian Wade: Former rugby star moves into NFL with Buffalo Bills | CNN
Former English rugby star Christian Wade’s dream of making it big in the NFL moved a step closer Monday after he joined the Buffalo Bills, the NFL side confirmed.
The 27-year-old quit rugby last October to join the NFL’s International Pathway Program, which offers players from outside the US a way into the sport.

Chiefs sign outside linebacker Jerry Attaochu
The Kansas City Chiefs are signing outside linebacker Jerry Attaochu, according to his agency, SportsTrustAdvisors. Nate Taylor of The Athletic reports the deal is for one year.
25 Days of Draftmas: Juan Thornhill would fit as a free safety in Steve Spagnuolo’s scheme
How he fits with the Chiefs: Thornhill is an incredibly smart, versatile safety prospect that has experience playing outside cornerback, in the box and as a deep safety. The blueprint and optimism for him to make the jump at any of those positions are there. He’s at his best reading the quarterback and wide receiver in front of him and using his FBI to make aggressive breaks on the ball. For the Chiefs, he could slate quite well in as a free safety in Steve Spagnuolo’s scheme. Playing a fourth of the deep field and matching route concepts underneath are some skills that Thornhill should thrive in with his ball skills and intelligence.
Former Chiefs cornerback Steve Nelson put himself in 2015 wild-card game vs. Texans
Nelson said when Marcus Peters’ shoe broke, he ran onto the field despite not being told to do so.
“It’s a big risk and at this point, it’s like in my mind, ‘If I make the play, I’m going to do great. Everybody’s going to celebrate with me. If I don’t make play, I might not be here next year.’ It was crazy. They came at me twice with Hopkins, and it was all good. [I] defended the play, made the play. We won the game. It was all good.”
