Hyman played for Orlando in the AAF after a college career at James Madison.
The Cleveland Browns may not have a selection in the first round of tonight’s 2019 NFL Draft, but that did not stop them from acquiring a player.
The club signed wide receiver Ishmael Hyman on Thursday, according to Hyman’s Twitter feed:

The 6-foot and 196-pound Hyman was a participant in Cleveland’s minicamp this week on a tryout basis. Before arriving in town, Hyman spent the spring as a member of the Orlando Apollos of the AAF. In eight games for the Apollos, he caught four passes for 60 yards and no touchdowns.
Hyman played collegiately at James Madison, where he was a member of the 2016 national championship team in 2016 and the 2017 team that made it back to the championship game. He appeared in 46 games for the Dukes over four years, finishing with career numbers of 72 receptions for 1,061 yards and 11 touchdowns.
