On Saturday, Moore was reported to have visited the Chiefs before draft day
You can keep up with all the reported Kansas City Chiefs pre-draft visits and workouts with our draft prospect and workout tracker. We’ve added another name to it: Appalachian State running back Jalin Moore.
Our visit disclaimer: There are pre-draft visits and there are workouts. Players that visit the Chiefs’ facility do not physically work out — those are just visits where prospects meet the coaching staff and/or front office, as well as go through a physical. The Chiefs can work a player out someplace else, such as before or after their pro day on campus. Teams are allowed 30 players to visit their facility.
Here’s what we know:
Appalachian State running back Jalin Moore
Listed at 5 feet 10 and 212 pounds, Moore chose Applachian State — where he was redshirted — so he could play close to home. In high school at Shelby, North Carolina, he was named regional Offensive Player of the Year.
He made the Sun Belt Conference All-Freshman Team, and was named SBC Offensive Player of the Year in his sophomore year with 1,402 yards and 10 touchdowns on 237 attempts — a snazzy 5.9 yards per attempt. As a junior, he was a first-team All-Conference selection after leading the SBC with 1,037 yards — even after missing two games with an injury. That season, he was named MVP of the Dollar General Bowl with 125 rushing yards and three scores.
In October of his senior season, he fractured and dislocated his right ankle, starting only four games. But he still scored six touchdowns and gained 400 yards on 63 attempts. He finished his college career averaging 6.1 yards per attempt, with 3,570 yards and 33 rushing touchdowns.
Invited to the NFL Combine, he only participated in the bench press, where he turned in 27 reps.
Here are some highlights.
