Cowboys draft Texas A&M safety Donovan Wilson in 6th, RB Mike Weber & DE Jalen Jelks in 7th, media & fans react

The Cowboys finally picked a safety, near the end of the 6th round. They also added depth at positions in the 7th.

The Cowboys swung a few trades in the later rounds and added three more players to their 2019 haul.

Starting in the sixth round, with pick 213, the Cowboys finally addressed the safety position by selecting Texas A&M’s Donovan Wilson.

If the Cowboys wanted a guy that can hit, maybe Wilson is their man though that “WWE” stuff could draw a lot of yellow in the NFL.

A little snapshot of Donovan Wilson’s production for the Aggies:

Of course, we leave the floor to Dane Brugler for a scouting report:

With pick 218 in the seventh round, the Cowboys went back to the well of running back and selected one of their 30 pre-draft visits, Mike Weber, from Ohio State.

In the seventh round, the Cowboys like to take guys they don’t want to fight for in the rookie free agency period:

Both backs the Cowboys took have playmaking ability and some are excited about the potential:

Weber is built for the full-time duties if he were called upon:

With the Cowboys final pick, they took Oregon edge rusher, Jalen Jelks.

The Cowboys are really trying to beef up their defensive line, trench warfare is the key in the NFL.
