The Cowboys finally picked a safety, near the end of the 6th round. They also added depth at positions in the 7th.
The Cowboys swung a few trades in the later rounds and added three more players to their 2019 haul.
Starting in the sixth round, with pick 213, the Cowboys finally addressed the safety position by selecting Texas A&M’s Donovan Wilson.

It took a while, but the Cowboys finally took a safety. Texas A&M’s Donovan Wilson went near end of 6th round at No. 213. Dallas comes right back in the 7th round & takes RB Mike Weber from Ohio State.

If the Cowboys wanted a guy that can hit, maybe Wilson is their man though that “WWE” stuff could draw a lot of yellow in the NFL.
People: I want a safety that can hit

Of course, we leave the floor to Dane Brugler for a scouting report:
The Cowboys select S Donovan Wilson of Texas A&M with Pick 213.

Here is @dpbrugler’s breakdown of S Donovan Wilson from his 2019 NFL Draft Guide. pic.twitter.com/saZYd6Rajx
A traits pick. Longshot to make the roster, but he has some box safety skills. https://t.co/YzxBCMxkZ9

With pick 218 in the seventh round, the Cowboys went back to the well of running back and selected one of their 30 pre-draft visits, Mike Weber, from Ohio State.
Advice for NFL teams in need of a RB: Take @OhioStateFB's @mikeweberjr, and enjoy all that he does out of the backfield.

With pick 218 in the 2019 NFL Draft, the #Cowboys select Mike Weber, RB, Ohio State.

Mike Weber posted a Good #RAS with Okay size, Great speed, Poor agility at the RB position. pic.twitter.com/jkiXOKHsKc
In the seventh round, the Cowboys like to take guys they don’t want to fight for in the rookie free agency period:
RB Weber is an example of a pick #Cowboys make because a) they want him and b) they didn't want to have to UDFA-chase him. This way, he's locked in here. https://t.co/lE0vbhtpel

Both backs the Cowboys took have playmaking ability and some are excited about the potential:
Imagine having Zeke, Pollard and Weber on the field at the same time. Teams wouldn't know where the ball is going

Weber is built for the full-time duties if he were called upon:
Also like this a lot. Didn’t mind Pollard, but felt like they had to find a guy who could carry the ball 15-20 times if Elliott were out.

Yeah, but on @1053TheFan Weber says he models his game after Mark Ingram #DallasCowboys #NFLDraft

With the Cowboys final pick, they took Oregon edge rusher, Jalen Jelks.

The Cowboys are really trying to beef up their defensive line, trench warfare is the key in the NFL.
Jalen Jelks. Cowboys grab a third pass rusher to round this thing out.
— David Helman (@HelmanDC) April 27, 2019
At 6'5, Jelks is just as big as Joe Jackson. Taking a hard look at traits here, I guess.
Jelks has an 83 inch wingspan at 6'5, 256 pounds.

Dallas certainly has a type.
An excellent late-round flier. https://t.co/J7YFxIJUkA
