If I were the skins I would be working real hard to trade a later pick for Rosen. Im not in love, but he is better than the rest of the guys. Super cheap on rookie deal and still doesn’t close the door on drafting a guy next year.
— Chris Cooley (@thecooleyzone) April 26, 2019
Was a big fan of Hockenson. would have been a perfect pick for the Skins. Didn't think he would fall to them but as the first round has already shown us... who the heck knows.

Doug Williams picks a guy that plays the game like he did during his prime. Dwayne Haskins is a classic drop-back passer with A arm talent and a high IQ. @Redskins got their guy without needing to trade up to get him..
— Bucky Brooks (@BuckyBrooks) April 26, 2019
In the years to come in the NFC East, it will be Daniel Jones and the Giants vs. Dwayne Haskins and the Redskins. It will be the ultimate measuring stick.

A reminder to not take draft grades too seriously over the next few days. This is from a B/R story last year titled "The year's worst picks." Darius Leonard saved the article on his phone on his way to becoming Defensive Rookie of the Year and 1st team All-Pro. pic.twitter.com/AaZmKM3boq

And to be clear: I don’t know the extent of his influence here. But when teams look for QBs high or in FA, owners typically more in. But usually more about how aggressive to be getting a guy.

Last year, after the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft I noticed that several contracts were in question in this article.https://t.co/d24OxbTpKV
— Nick Korte (@nickkorte) April 25, 2019
Tonight, if I notice similar aspects, I'll repeat that effort for 2019.
Ultimately when looking at the draft I think a strong case can be made that drafting late 1st round is pointless if you can get more picks moving down. Also probably more value in gaining an extra 3rd or 4th rounder than hoarding those 6th and 7ths.

Most Cash Spent on QBs from 2016-2018 (# of Wins)
— Spotrac (@spotrac) April 25, 2019
1. #Packers, $96M (23)
2. #Redskins, $94M (22)
3. #Lions, $88M (24)
4. #Colts, $81M (22)
5. #Saints, $80M (31)
6. #Cardinals, $76M (18)
7. #Browns, $75M (8)
8. #Ravens, $72M (27)
9. #Falcons, $71M (28)
10. #49ers, $70M (12)
Based on projected rookie contracts, this is where any player chosen would rank in the NFL by position and annual contract value. So choosing a WR 1st overall or a RB 32nd overall, they would both average the 30th highest salary in the NFL at that position. Data per @Jason_OTC pic.twitter.com/vgpfYTjhxg

Lot of NFL Draft gossip coming in late last night. What is Arizona doing at 1? Could Rosen and Murray co-exist? What are the 49ers plans? Would they trade out? Could Josh Allen fall all the way to NYG at 6? Jones over Haskins? What's Washington doing? And CHIEFS talk. @GMFB next.
— Peter Schrager (@PSchrags) April 23, 2019
3. Dwayne Haskins considered the likely QB if Washington goes there, but don’t sleep on Daniel Jones to Washington, either. Has fans inside that building.
— Peter Schrager (@PSchrags) April 25, 2019
4. Some first round names that keep coming up in conversations with teams today that might not have the same buzz as others at their positions:
— Peter Schrager (@PSchrags) April 25, 2019
JoeJuan Williams, Chris Lindstrom, Elgton Jenkins, Taylor Rapp, Darnell Savage, and Jeffrey Simmons (despite torn ACL).
5. Sounds like Temple DB Rock Ya-Sin has emerged as the top corner on many teams’ boards.
— Peter Schrager (@PSchrags) April 25, 2019
6. Feeling around the league is that Cincinnati is NOT in the QB market in the first round. Especially not at 11th overall.
— Peter Schrager (@PSchrags) April 25, 2019
7. Only receiver I’m hearing consistently — across the board — getting first round “lock” buzz is Marquise “Hollywood” Brown.
— Peter Schrager (@PSchrags) April 25, 2019
8. Washington QB situation... multiple teams have made the point to me— don’t assume Case Keenum is viewed as the starter right now inside that building. Colt McCoy still very much a possibility as number 1 on the depth chart as we head into the Draft.
— Peter Schrager (@PSchrags) April 25, 2019
From our NFL pre-draft coverage: #MSU pass-rusher Montez Sweat may have been misdiagnosed with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. Two sources say the thickness of Sweat's heart wall is actually 1.5 cms, not nearly 2.0. I explain below why the risk could be much lower. pic.twitter.com/PUVsbO2tDw

--Teddy Bridgewater: traded

A fun graph: Where was each Heisman Trophy QB drafted?
— Football Perspective (@fbgchase) April 25, 2019
Kyler Murray is likely to become the 7th QB in the last 11 years to win the Heisman and get drafted 1st or 2nd.
Only 2 of the Heisman Trophy winners from 1971 to 2001 were QBs drafted in 1st round.

The Caps led the series 2-0 and 3-2. They led in game 6 and game 7. They led tonight 2-0 and 3-1. The Hurricanes just kept on coming. Outplayed them in OT and 2nd OT. They had nothing left at end of the game. They looked spent. Tip of the cap to the Canes. They earned it.
