Bengals claim Darrin Hall off waivers from Browns

The Bengals add more depth to their backfield.

After adding two running backs in the NFL Draft, the Bengals have nabbed another one in free agency.

On Tuesday, the team announced that Darrin Hall had been acquired off of waivers by way of the Browns.

Hall, who measures in at 5-11 and 225 pounds, is a rookie out of out of the University of Pittsburgh Panthers. He had signed as a college free agent with the Browns on May 3 and was waived Monday.

In four seasons at Pitt (2015-18), he rushed 381 times for 2189 yards and 21 touchdowns. He also caught 38 passes for 267 yards and one touchdown.

Prior to the draft, NFL.com gave Hall a ‘priority free agent’ grade and offered up this:

Running back prospect with three-down backup size and versatility who is limited by a lack of field vision and cut quickness. Hall is too tight-hipped to be a sudden, one-cut runner on outside zone plays, but he does have the raw build-up speed to take it the distance if he finds wide open daylight. His size, strength and pro day testing give him an outside shot of surprising in camp.

Here are some highlights of Hall in action from this past season:
