The Arizona Cardinals brought in 12 undrafted free agents following the 2019 NFL Draft. While they’ll have additional players in as tryout players, there are 12 they offered money to and signed.

Today, the last undrafted free agent is Rutgers tight end Jerome Washington.
Rutgers tight end JEROME WASHINGTON (6-3, 241) played in 19 games (15 starts) in his two seasons with the Scarlet Knights after transferring from the University of Miami. While at Rutgers, Washington had 39 receptions for 484 yards and one touchdown over the past two years and was named to the 2018 preseason John Mackey Award watch list for the nation’s top tight end. An Elizabeth, NJ native, Washington played in nine games at Miami in 2015 after beginning his college career at Mercer Community College.
Washington is an H-back with decent speed to attack on the second level and the ball skills to bring throws in. Teams could view him as an athletic project who might be able to develop into a pass-catching tight end, but a lack of production and even marginal blocking ability could make him a longshot to make a roster.
Jerome Washington is a promising prospect who has battled through injuries in his two seasons with the Rutgers program, durability is a looming question and medicals will have a large influence on his status. On the field, Washington projects as a TE2 in the immediate time frame thanks to his gifts as a blocker. There is developmental upside and athleticism to become a long term starter under a patient staff.
