If anyone knows how to succeed playing for Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots, it’s Kevin Faulk. Faulk, who played college ball at LSU, spent 13 seasons with the New England Patriots from 1999-2011, winning three Super Bowl rings with the franchise. So when former LSU running back Nick Brossette signed with the Patriots as an undrafted free agent recently, he knew exactly whom to call for advice. Brossette told reporters he FaceTimed with Faulk to get the skinny on succeeding with Belichick and received same sage advice. That seems pretty simple and straightforward, but it’s probably easier to say those instructions than to follow them. Some players like to showcase their personalities and have a hard time bottling it up, which can lead to discipline from the club. Others fit in well with the team’s style and succeed by keeping quiet and doing their job. Joining the Patriots is an honor for football players, but not always a guarantee of success.
