Three available free agents who might help the Titans

Yesterday was a pretty big day around the NFL because it marked the end of the period where signing free agents counts against the compensatory pick count for the 2020 draft. That really isn’t that big of a deal for the Titans because the only free agent they lost of much consequence was Quinton Spain, and they signed players like Adam Humphries, Rodger Saffold and Cameron Wake.

With all of that being said, here are 3 guys that are still available on the market that could help the Titans in 2019:

Ndamukong Suh

Here we go again, I know, but the Titans still have a need up front on the defensive line. We are all really excited about Jeffery Simmons, but we aren’t going to see him on the field until at least November. That means the Titans could use a guy like Suh to come in and be disruptive from day 1. The Titans reportedly came in 2nd in the Suh sweepstakes last year. They still have the cap space to win it this year, if they are so inclined.

Muhammad Wilkerson

Along the same lines of Suh, Wilkerson could give them a guy up front that can do multiple things until Simmons is ready to go. We spend a lot of time and energy talking about how the Titans have been bad at receiver for a long time, but the same can be said about the defensive line. Outside of Jurrell Casey, who is an absolute stud, the Titans have been really bad up front for a long time.

Ezekiel Ansah

The Titans still have a need for an EDGE rusher. Ansah has been productive when healthy. The biggest issue is that he hasn’t been healthy for the majority of his career. While the Titans added Wake in free agency and D’Andre Walker in the draft, they still need bodies for the rotation, and hey, it wouldn’t hurt to have some camp competition for guys like Sharif Finch and Kamalei Correa.

Ansah has always been a 4-3 DE, but the Titans like to be multiple up front. I have no doubt Dean Peas could find a way to use him in his defense.
