Vikings sign Rutgers CB Isaiah Wharton following tryout camp

And the roster is now at 90

This past weekend, 37 players made their way to Eagan to attempt to claim the final spot on the Minnesota Vikings’ 90-man roster. On Monday, the Vikings picked one of them to fill that place.

Numerous sources are reporting that the Vikings have signed Rutgers cornerback Isaiah Wharton, and he has already listed himself as a Minnesota Vikings DB on his Twitter page. That’s good enough confirmation for me.

The 6’1”, 203-pound Wharton started all 48 games in his career for the Scarlet Knights, and collected the team’s Paul Robeson Award, given for “performance, leadership, and dedication to the program.” He was also Rutgers’ recipient of the Big Ten Sportsmanship Award, given to one player on each team in the conference, and was a team captain this past season.

Over the course of his career, he finished with four interceptions and 32 pass breakups.

With Wharton’s signing, the Vikings’ roster is officially at 90 players.

Welcome to Minnesota, Isaiah Wharton!
