Ed Donatell joined 1st and 10 to discuss the end of Broncos minicamp.
If you’ve been paying attention to reports about how the Denver Broncos are adjusting to the new coaching staff, there is a theme that runs through everything. When Ed Donatell joined Ryan Edwards, Andrew Mason and Steve Atwater on 1st and 10 on Orange and Blue 760, he touched on that theme.
Atwater asked the Broncos’ new defensive coordinator about the players comments, and how comfortable they seem to feel in this new system. Players like Chris Harris Jr. and Bradley Chubb have been vocal about their excitement to be in this new system. The theme that appears to be important here? Teaching.
“Vic hired a great bunch of teachers. We’ve got teachers from top to bottom. Offense, defense, special teams,” Donatell said. “Really impressed with this staff. Been on some good staffs; I like this one a lot.”
Good teachers can inspire their pupils to strive for excellence. Another aspect that Donatell spoke about was relationships, and how important they are to building a winning atmosphere. When arriving to a new team, it is paramount to success that the coaches and players build those positive relationships.
The Denver Broncos have a long way to go as a franchise. Winning hasn’t come easy in recent seasons. Turning that around will take a culture change that looks to be taking place before Broncos Country’s eyes. Success all starts from building those positive relationships between teachers and pupils.
