The Fantasy Decider: Todd Gurley vs. Melvin Gordon - Daniel Kelley
You probably guessed this at the start. But the point I’m making here is first, that Gordon is my pick over Gurley, but second, that it is closer than the drafting community has indicated of late. In our staff rankings, I have Gordon fifth and Gurley eighth, but Jeff Ratcliffe actually has Gurley higher than Gordon (check the piece earlier this week). That is a far cry from current ADP, which has them much more separated. If you are choosing between the two in drafts this year, my suggestion is Gordon. But if you go the other way, it’s closer than the (always reactionary) drafting community believes, and that information alone gives you an area to exploit.
Chargers' Thomas Davis embracing mentor role to Denzel Perryman - Gavino Borquez
“I’ve watched Denzel a lot. He has a ton of ability. His ability to strike people, I feel like is second to none in this league. As long as he’s able to go out and stay healthy, he’s one of the best linebackers in this league.
Melvin Gordon Thinks Chargers Are AFC West Favorites: 'We're the Team to Beat' - Rob Goldberg
"We're the team to beat," the running back said Thursday, per Eric Williams of ESPN. "We're just special, and I definitely feel we have the best team in the NFL. You just have to walk around with that confidence."
The NFL's prototypical receiver for each alignment heading into 2019 - Cam Mellor
An underrated aspect of Allen’s repertoire, his route-running skills are second to none at this stage of his career. Not only does he have a feel for coverages, but he also has an innate knack for reading when and where to make his breaks based upon the defenders he’s going to face. He’s just as routinely spotted jetting past overwhelmed linebackers as he is finding the soft spots in zone coverage in between defensive backs.
Emergence of Sean Culkin could lead to end of Antonio Gates in Los Angeles - Travis Wakeman
The tight end position will be an interesting one to watch for the Chargers going into the season. Aside from Henry, Virgil Green and Culkin, the Chargers have four other tight ends on the roster. Matt Sokol, Daniel Helm, Vince Mayle and Andrew Vollert will all have the same opportunity, which could essentially mean the end of Gates. But Culkin has to be considered the frontrunner at this particular moment.
