All the chatter about Carson Wentz’s contract status can now be put to rest. Wentz and the Philadelphia Eagles have agreed to a four-year contract extension, the team announced Thursday. They also shared this video about how "negotiations" went down, indicating the sides are on friendly terms. Wentz, the No. 2 overall pick by the Eagles in 2016, is making $8.4 million this season. The team has a fifth-year contract option for $22.7 million. The four-year extension is tacked on after the 2020 option season and runs until 2024, keeping Wentz under contract with the Eagles for the next six seasons. Wentz emerged in the 2017 season and was putting together an MVP-caliber campaign until sustaining a season-ending torn ACL. Nick Foles took over and led the team to a Super Bowl title. Wentz struggled last season in his return from the injury and was shut down early due to a back injury. The team went 5-6 in his 11 games. For his career, the 26-year-old QB has passed for 70 touchdowns and 28 interceptions.
