Minnesota Vikings News and Links: June 8th and 9th, 2019

It’s the weekend, wooooooooooo!!!!!!

Good Morning!

OTA’s are now completed, the next time the team is going to be together is for mandatory minicamp from 11-13 June. After that it’s the desert of meaningful Vikings news until training camp starts later....the dates aren’t posted yet on Vikings.com that I can find. If anyone knows those dates please post them in the comments section. This weekend I’m going to the range for fun and to keep proficient with my hunting rifle so I’m ready for deer season, and will probably take the family out for dinner on Sunday; what are your plans this weekend? Meanwhile we’ll catch up on our NFC North opponents and then carry on with our news and links thread full of beer recommendations, nap strategies, crock pot and smoker recipes. Drop by for some fan wisdom, snark and have another beer or three, it’s the weekend!

At Pride of Detroit they are not posting new content as a sign of solidarity with the current Vox writers strike. I respect that and will not link articles from their site this week.

The Bears have to get over the Eagles’ hump.

Jay Cutler is good, but he’s no Sid Luckman (originally published in November 2015).

Over at Acme Packing Company Packers announce plans to honor Bart Starr during week 2 game and with helmet decal, that’s the Vikings at Packers game in week 2.

Cheese curds, 6/7: Packers DL Kenny Clark starting to gain recognition.

League news:

Consistent with the weekend news and links I’ll post league news in the comments.

We come to today’s media selection: Bush - Machinehead

Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:
-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-This isn’t a male version of The View, so leave the gender hatred at the door
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
-Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer
-If you can’t disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it’s sarcasm.
With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don’t forget to tip your waiter, try the monotony and Welcome Aboard.
