George Kittle was always a high-end athlete. At the University of Iowa, Kittle held mostly every weightlifting or athletic testing record for tight ends. That was after strength and conditioning coach Chris Doyle got his hands on Kittle. In the video below, Kittle says he arrived at Iowa City weighing at 200 pounds, and Doyle told him the only way he was going to see the field was if he learned how to run block. Kittle said that stuck with him, and boy did it ever. Here are a few clips from Kittle in college. He was always skilled:

Here is the video with clips from Brian Baldinger of NFL Network:
.@49ers @gkittle46 @HawkeyeFootball #Hawkeyes #49ers in the 99 year history of the @NFL, no tight end ever had 1377 receiving yards until GKittle came along. #RECORD As awesome as that was, his blocking was impressive. His #FilmSession coming soon. #BaldysBreakdowns pic.twitter.com/llibT4b9H2

Pro Football Focus has been high on Kittle since his Iowa days as well. They recently wrote this blurb on the San Francisco 49ers star tight end:
We weren’t even that high on Kittle, as he ended up 70th on our draft board, but found the value absurdly good once he slipped out of the third round. Little did we realize he’d last all the way to the 5th and 146 overall. This past season he broke the PFF record for yards after the catch – regardless of position.
