Shanahan told 9News that he will make an appearance at the Broncos facility for the first time in 11 years on Saturday.
Mike Shanahan will always have a place in Denver Broncos history.
The most successful head coach the franchise has seen who led the organization to its first Super Bowl wins in back-to-back years leaves no doubt to that fact. Given how the relationship ended, there was genuine doubt the two sides could come together again. But over the last few years, there’s been hints that it could. Shanahan was in the stadium when the franchise honored the 1997 Super Bowl team against the Green Bay Packers in 2015.
Now, there is no doubt.
11 years have passed since Mike Shanahan has been to #Broncos headquarters.

In an interview with 9News in Denver, Shanahan said he will attend training camp on Saturday at the invitation of new Broncos head coach Vic Fangio. It’s the first time in 11 years Shanahan will set foot in the team’s headquarters. As he told 9News, he hasn’t seen the renovated facility.
This could be just the start.
Dave Logan said he thinks Shanahan will soon get in the Broncos Ring of Fame. Andrew Mason agrees with the longtime radio play-by-play man and member of the Ring of Fame selection committee.
Shanahan attending training camp is the next step to paying tribute to the man who will always have a place in the franchise’s history.
