The Steelers hope rookie inside linebacker Devin Bush fills the hole left by Ryan Shazier when he got hurt 20 months ago. The Steelers hope losing Antonio Brown’s noise helps more than losing Brown’s talent hurts. The Cleveland Browns, meantime, are bolstered by hype worthy of the Backstreet Boys in the ’90s. It is gratuitous. It is loud. It is nonstop, and it is annoying.
- Where do Browns defensive backs rank in the AFC North? (cleveland.com) - This division has always been built on strong defenses and that has yet to change. Through two sets of rankings, the Steelers remain the standard but things could change in the back half. While there were some clear weaknesses in the box for some in the AFC North, the secondaries are a strength for most in the division and that makes the rankings tight.

That’s the price of doing business when you acquire one of the best wide receivers in the game.

- Making sense of NFL’s decision to not suspend Tyreek Hill (si.com) - Earlier this year, some wondered if the NFL career of Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Tyreek Hill could be in peril following news reports of suspicious injuries suffered by Hill’s young son. Against this murky backdrop, the NFL announced on Friday that Hill will not be disciplined under the league’s personal conduct policy. As is often noted when an NFL player is accused of off-field wrongdoing, the conduct policy is detailed in Article 46 of the league’s collective bargaining agreement between the NFL and the National Football League Players’ Association.
- Darren Sproles returns to Eagles on one-year deal (philadelphiaeagles.com) - One more time for Darren Sproles and the Eagles. The team announced on Friday afternoon that Sproles will return for his 15th NFL season as he adds more depth to the team’s running back room and brings some explosiveness to the return game.
- Vic Fangio bans music at Broncos training camp (NFL.com) - Most people view music in the summertime as the perfect backdrop for any activity. Vic Fangio isn’t one of those people. The Denver Broncos head coach took the time during Day 2 of training camp Friday to address why he doesn’t want any music played during workouts.
