Detroit Lions - Buffalo Bills live updates, game tracker

How to watch the Lions’ preseason dress rehearsal Friday night.

Will this finally be the week we get a leak of a sneak peak for the Detroit Lions’ 2019 season? We’re two preseason games into August, and the Lions have kept a lot of their key players under wraps thus far.

For some coming off injury—your Trey Flowers, Marvin Jones Jr., Mike Daniels type—it makes a ton of sense. For guys like Matthew Stafford and Kenny Golladay, it’s obviously just precautionary.

But there’s a good chance the Lions take off the bubble wrap Friday night, and the timing couldn’t be any better. There hasn’t been a lot of positive things to pull from the Lions’ preseason thus far—especially early in games. If Stafford and company take Ford Field Friday night and can put together some good drive on both sides of the ball, they can recapture some of that sweet, sweet offseason optimism just a couple weeks before their season debut in Arizona.

Pregame

The main question on everyone’s mind as the Detroit Lions prepare to take the field against the Buffalo Bills Friday night is will Matthew Stafford play? If warmups are any indication, it seems likely. Stafford was repping with the first team during 7-on-7s and 11-on-11s in the minutes leading up to kickoff.

Additionally, Damon Harrison Sr., Trey Flowers and Mike Daniels were all dressed during warmings, suggesting that we may finally get a look at some of the Lions starters on the defensive line for the first time all preseason (A’Shawn Robinson aside).

Stay tuned as kickoff is just a few minutes away now.
