Jets offensive line is getting healthy

NFL: New York Jets-Training Camp Noah K. Murray-USA TODAY Sports

The Jets were without four of their five starters on the offensive line in last week’s preseason game against the Falcons. Ryan Kalil still was not ready to take the field. He was a late signing still learning the offensive system and working himself into shape. The other three, Brian Winters, Kelechi Osemele, and Brandon Shell were all dealing with injuries.

All three are on the mend. Adam Gase indicated today they are all on track to make the Week 1 lineup. Shell sounds like the soonest to return followed by Oseleme followed by Winters.

In an ideal world the starting offensive line would have been able to work together through the offseason program, training camp, and the preseason. Because of the timing of the Kalil signing and these injuries, their work together will likely be limited.

The silver lining is that the Jets are on track to have their top five offensive linemen on the field Week 1 against Buffalo.
