The Daily Twitter will be posted at the beginning of every day (at midnight in Washington, DC). It's official, so it's now news
— Scott Jennings (@ScottJenningsHH) August 25, 2019
Because from the time they drafted him they felt he would take a while. Nothing has changed. Talent is there; lots to learn before he's ready to start ... zero reason to rush.
— John Keim (@john_keim) August 25, 2019
Two ways to look at this.
— Rich Eisen (@richeisen) August 25, 2019
One: Gruden has a firm grasp on what he’s personally seen in Haskins and he’s simply not ready.
Two: Hue/Baker 2.0 https://t.co/X86u50uiZK
This is an excellent third option. But technically part of the first part of having a firm grasp on matters. https://t.co/eAIh8XmO7C

With Jay Gruden confirming that Case Keenum will be the #Redskins starting QB in week 1 let’s take a look at how he’s fared this preseason:
— PFF WAS Redskins (@PFF_Redskins) August 25, 2019
Keenum has a 90.4 overall grade this preseason which is the 3rd best among QBs.#HTTR
Definitely a difference. Felt more confident with Alex starting and Case absolutely will have more turnovers.
— Pete Hailey (@PeteHaileyNBCS) August 25, 2019
But a close approximation of 2018 Alex from 2019 Case might be enough, if the defense progresses and the running game does too. Of course, no Trent sucks
Gruden on Keenum: “he’s got to produce. If he produces he’s got nothing to worry about.”
— John Keim (@john_keim) August 25, 2019
On a somewhat related note, I think Skins FO/fans are going to end up really glad that Haskins fell into our laps this year because the scrum to get one of the top 2-3 QBs in next year's class is going to be... yikes. Assuming Brissett doesn't find another gear, you might...

Would obviously prefer Trent Williams out there at LT, but I feel good about an OL of Penn, Martin, Roullier, Scherff, and Moses.
— Robbie Duncan (@RobbieDuncanOL) August 25, 2019
Seen enough of Penn and Martin to feel like they can get the job done. Could be a lot worse.
If Fabian Moreau isn’t able to go against the Eagles, then Greg Stroman or Jimmy Moreland would go for him. Gruden said Moreland has been excellent in that spot. Jordan Brailford is out for the next few weeks #HTTR
— Rhiannon Walker (@InstantRHIplay) August 25, 2019
Fabian Moreau (ankle) has a follow up appointment on Tuesday. Will know more about his availability then.
— Craig Hoffman (@CraigHoffman) August 25, 2019
If he can’t go, Moreland or Stroman will be in the slot. Likely Moreland over Stroman.
Jordan Reed is not at #Redskins practice. Robert Davis isn’t participating. Perine and Flanagan are on the side field.
— Craig Hoffman (@CraigHoffman) August 25, 2019
The NFL cannot alter an undesirable behavior with a consequence that a player is comfortable with. The punishment must be so unpalatable that players will never consider coming in head first and initiating head to head contact like that again.

Watching back the #Redskins game vs the Falcons. Watch this rep from Daron Payne. Working against Falcons C Alex Mack on 2nd and 1. Look at how quick he wins hand leverage and then pulls Mack over before bursting into the backfield. Didn’t finish the tackle but blew up the play pic.twitter.com/oDLJpHoaCB

Meanwhile, as was clear when he practiced, #Patriots WR Josh Gordon passed his physical and is off NFI.

Despite the fact that they could have recouped $24.8 million from their former QB, the Colts already have reached a financial settlement with Andrew Luck in which they will not take back any of the money they are owed, league sources tell ESPN.https://t.co/HPrU7xTowE

Here’s how much Andrew Luck meant to Indianapolis: After the news of his retirement broke Saturday night, WISH-TV sports anchor Anthony Calhoun spent 90 straight commercial-free minutes on air, all Luck.

If Houston doesn’t get their shit together, this will be Deshaun in three years too.
— Brett Kollmann (@BrettKollmann) August 25, 2019
Indy waited until way too late to get Luck a line. I hope every other GM in the league with a young star QB learns from Grigson’s mistake. https://t.co/CTzTiMerD6
Someone needs to do a documentary on the 2012 QB class. Some incredible stories!
— Daniel Jeremiah (@MoveTheSticks) August 25, 2019
Luck
RG3
Tannehill
Weeden
Osweiler
Wilson
Foles
Cousins
Lindley
Andrew Luck’s retirement is a pretty compelling argument against letting the worst-run teams have the best players every year.

Source: #Raiders WR Antonio Brown has lost his grievance for his helmet. Again.
— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) August 25, 2019
Per source, Antonio Brown is close to picking a new helmet, and his decision will include a custom-made model and an endorsement deal. So, silver lining.
— ProFootballTalk (@ProFootballTalk) August 25, 2019
No further proceedings are expected, I’m told. So Brown should wear the new helmet and we all can move on (hopefully). https://t.co/NgH4B7QoDC
