A couple hours before game time of the Raiders and Packers preseason game the turf issues Jon Gruden was concerned about reared their ugly head. The hole in the turf in the end zone where the CFL goal post usually stands was patched to accommodate the NFL game.
Officials and personnel from both teams examined the patched spot for quite some time. At first the discussion was that no starters would play. As if that wasn’t going to happen anyway. Then there were discussions of playing on an 80-yard field, which seems ridiculous.
Well, guess what... that’s exactly what they decided to do.
The game is being played on an 80-yard field with no kickoffs. That means drives are starting at each team’s 15-yard-line. Oh, Canada. You are just full of surprises.
