Not literally, but it probably felt like it.
For a guy that tore his ACL less than a year ago, Carl Lawson doesn’t look like he’s missed a beat.
The third-year pass rusher out of Auburn looked great in training camp, as though the injury never even happened. But to this point, we hadn’t gotten to see Lawson in live game action, as the Bengals have been very careful in acclimating their young stud back into the defense.
On Thursday, the Bengals unleashed Lawson on the Giants, and he’s made the most of it. That was highlighted by a second quarter sack of Daniel Jones in which Lawson blew past Pro Bowl tackle Nate Solder to blow up the rookie quarterback.

That was just one of several plays in which Lawson made Solder look like Bobby Hart look like a typical Giants lineman. If he can keep this up in the regular season, the Bengals will have one of the better group of edge rushers of any NFL team.
