Closing out this Sunday’s football games we have the 2-1 New Orleans Saints taking on the 3-0 Dallas Cowboys. It’s a prime time game made slightly less intriguing by the Saints unfortunately missing future hall of fame QB Drew Brees from the line up who will still be out for a few more weeks with his hand injury.
Instead the Saints will be led by former Vikings 1st round pick Teddy Bridgewater, though Teddy has shown to be a capable signal caller himself before a gruesome leg injury nearly ended his career a few years back. It’s uplifting to see a guy whose injury was so bad there was talk of amputation at the time battling back to be in position to show that he can one day replace Drew Brees for good once he decides to hang up the cleats. Consider tonight’s game from Bridgewater to be a nationally televised tryout for the QB of the future title in New Orleans.
Standing in Teddy’s way is the Dallas Cowboys who have their own QB in Dak Prescott who wants to show exactly what he is worth on the big stage of SNF. With Prescott leading the Cowboys to a 3-0 start already it sure looks like Dallas might start regretting not giving in to Dak and offering him the big time contract extension that is likely coming eventually, he is earning more and more as each game passes.
Everyone knows the Cowboys offense runs through Ezekiel Elliott though, which is part of the reason why the talented RB got his pay day already while Dak waits in the wings. That, and Elliott wasn’t showing up until he got his money this season with a prolonged contract hold out that only got settled on the eve of Week 1. It’s his first chance this year to show to a national audience that he is worth every penny of his monster deal himself.
Oh yeah, and Dallas has Amari Cooper who continues to light up for the Cowboys after completely giving up on the Raiders before being traded for a first round pick. Unfortunately for the Raiders the player they drafted with that pick isn’t able to help them this year because it was safety Johnathan Abram who is out for the year after messing up his shoulder in Week 1. Why football gods, why?!
Anywho, chat right here in our open thread with your fellow Raiders fans while this big time matchup between the Saints and the Cowboys goes down.
