A carbon copy of Week 3.
Well, this just feels like deja vu from last year at this point — the Falcons suffer a disappointing road loss against a conference opponent in Week 1, have a promising home-opening win in Week 2, then lose two games we expected them to win in weeks 3 and 4.
The Falcons are sputtering in every facet of the game at this point. The defense got diced by a Titans offense that had scored just seven points while allowing nine sacks in Week 2. The offense couldn’t manage more than 10 points at home. Matt Bryant missed a field goal, and Matt Bosher didn’t inspire any confidence in the punting game.

This article will look at things strictly from a fantasy football perspective (that means looking at nothing other than purely statistics). Here is Atlanta’s fantasy stud and fantasy dud from Week 4’s defeat against the Tennessee Titans.

Fantasy Stud - Austin Hooper
Stat Line - 9 catches, 130 receiving yards: 13.0 standard league points, 21.0 PPR points
For the second straight week, Austin Hooper is our fantasy stud. Hooper is giving it his all on the field, making himself available to Matt Ryan over the middle of the field and racking up those yards after the catch when Ryan goes his way.
While Hooper racked up the points through two touchdown catches last week, he did all of his fantasy damage in the yardage department this time around.
Hooper led both teams in receptions and receiving yards this week. The 130 receiving yards he recorded is a career high, and it’s the first time he’s gone over the century mark since Week 1 of the 2017 season.
Hooper obviously has Matt Ryan’s trust at this point. With how shallow the tight end position is in fantasy football, I would advise slotting him into your lineup weekly unless you have someone the likes of Evan Engram or Travis Kelce on your roster as well.
Dud
Calvin Ridley - 3 catches, 32 receiving yards: 3.2 standard league points, 6.2 PPR points
For the second straight week, Ridley makes an appearance in this column. The Falcons just are not getting him the ball, and it’s starting to become a worrisome trend.
Ridley and Julio Jones were the two Falcons pass catchers who accounted for the fewest yards against a Titans team that’s tough on opposing wide receivers, but Jones had 20 more receiving yards and one more reception than Ridley.
Over the course of the past two games combined, Ridley has four receptions for a meager 38 receiving yards. He was, on average, drafted as a WR2 in around the fourth or fifth round of 12-team leagues. After an electrifying first two games, Ridley has not lived up to that hype.
