Vikings Wednesday injury report: Mike Hughes participates in full

NFL: Arizona Cardinals at Minnesota Vikings Jeffrey Becker-USA TODAY Sports

Could he be back on Sunday?

Now that the gnashing of teeth and rending of garments over last week’s result is, hopefully, over, we can move ahead with some actual news about the Minnesota Vikings. They released their first injury report ahead of Sunday’s game against the Oakland Raiders today, and there’s one piece of very good news on it.

For the first time in nearly a year, it appears that cornerback Mike Hughes is on track to participate in a full week of practice, as he was listed as having full participation in Wednesday’s session.

Hughes tore his ACL in Week 6 of last season, and spent the entire preseason on the Physically Unable to Perform List. He sat out the first two weeks of the regular season, though he did have full participation in the last practice before the Green Bay game.

As it appears that Mackensie Alexander is going to continue to miss time with his elbow injury. . .he sat out of Wednesday’s practice. . .it sure would be nice if Hughes was able to contribute something to the team going forward. If today’s injury report is any indication, he could be on track to make his return on Sunday against the Raiders.

Here is the full injury report from Wednesday for the Vikings:

For the Raiders, the big news is that starting left tackle Trent Brown didn’t practice on Wednesday. Brown left the Raiders’ loss to the Chiefs on Sunday early and did not return. They also missed guard Gabe Jackson who, according to our friends at Silver and Black Pride, is not expected to be back until next week.
