Daily Norseman FanPulse: Would you look at that?

NFL: Philadelphia Eagles at Minnesota Vikings Brace Hemmelgarn-USA TODAY Sports

A second straight upward move!

For the second consecutive week, fan confidence in the Minnesota Vikings has increased, according to the results of our latest FanPulse poll. The pattern of rising and falling has officially been broken, and hopefully we won’t see it again for a while.

This week, 63% of respondents to our poll expressed confidence in the direction of the team. This is a pretty significant increase from the 43% we saw last week, and a looooooooooong way from the 13% we saw after the loss to the Bears in Week 4.

(That’s a lot of threes. Perhaps three is a magic number, like Stefon Diggs touchdown catches.)

It’s not quite as high as it was when the regular season started, but with any luck we’ll get there eventually.

The national question asked our readers who they thought the NFL Coach of the Year was through six weeks, and one coach lapped the entire field.

San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan, who is the coach of the NFC’s only remaining undefeated team, picked up more than half of the available votes. This is thoroughly unsurprising, given that I don’t think anybody had the Niners sitting at 5-0 after the season’s first six weeks. Bill Belichick came in a distant second.

Those are our FanPulse results for this week, folks. Hopefully we can talk about another rise in confidence at this time next week after the Vikings run their winning streak to three games.
