The second DT signing of the day.
Just hours after cutting two veterans and signing a defensive tackle from the Raiders practice squad, the Eagles picked up another DT, Albert Huggins from the Texans practice squad. Huggins is a 6-foot-3, 305-pound rookie out of Clemson.

Depth at defensive tackle was already a problem with Philly losing Timmy Jernigan and Malik Jackson earlier this season. It was made even worse on Sunday with Hassan Ridgeway suffering two injuries (knee and ankle) and it looks like he might miss time. Doug Pederson said that Ridgeway’s ankle would be further evaluated Monday afternoon.
Ridgeway was replacing Timmy Jernigan, who was replacing Malik Jackson, and despite being replaced in-game by Akeem Spence, Spence was one of the players released late-Monday.
Ridgeway has taken over 50% of defensive snaps since Week 4 and about a third of special teams snaps, too. So, the team definitely needed to add some depth at defensive tackle. Rather than go with a veteran, the Eagles are trying to add some youth to their aging roster. Worth a shot.
