Well, if that don’t beat all
With Week 6 of NFL action officially in the books, the nominations for this week’s FedEx Air and Ground Players of the Week are out, and a member of your Minnesota Vikings is up for one of this week’s awards.
And, this time, it’s not Dalvin Cook.
No, this week quarterback Kirk Cousins has been nominated for the FedEx Air Player of the Week Award, the first time he’s been up for it this season.
Cousins had one of the best games of his career on Sunday in the Vikings’ 38-20 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles at U.S. Bank Stadium. He completed 22-of-29 passes for 333 yards, four touchdowns, and an interception* en route to helping the Vikings get to 4-2 on the season.
The competition Cousins faces for the award this week comes from Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray (27/37, 340 yd, 3 TD, 0 INT) and New York Jets quarterback Sam Darnold (23/32, 338 yd, 2 TD, 1 INT). Neither of those guys had as good a week as Cousins did, so this should be easy.
