FanPulse
After hitting their lowest confidence score since before the draft last week, the New England Patriots have rebounded a bit thanks to their blowout win against the Washington Redskins: the latest SB Nation FanPulse survey — please click here if you also want to take part in the future — shows that 91% of participants felt good about the direction in which the 5-0 team is headed, up from 88% the week before.
91% is good enough for fourth best in the league, tied with the Buffalo Bills. Only fans of the San Francisco 49ers, Kansas City Chiefs and Indianapolis Colts are more confident after Week 5: 96% of each respective fan base have voted that they would be happy with the current course of the team — something that cannot be said that clearly about followers of the Patriots’ upcoming opponent, the New York Giants.
Coming off a 28-10 home loss against the Minnesota Vikings, the Giants’ confidence score dropped from 71% the week before down to 61%. The lopsided defeat at the hands of the Vikings is probably the main reason for that, but other factors such as the team’s injuries — it will play against the Patriots without Saquon Barkley, Wayne Gallman Jr., Evan Engram and Sterling Shepard — also likely contributed.
