Ufomba Kamalu appeared in two games for New England in 2018.
The New England Patriots’ practice squad is down to nine.
According to Jim McBride of the Boston Globe, defensive lineman Ufomba Kamalu is departing to join the Baltimore Ravens’ active roster.
The 26-year-old Kamalu originally joined New England’s scout team last November after making stops with the Houston Texans and Arizona Cardinals. A promotion to the Patriots’ 53-man roster followed by the close of the regular season for a Miami product who entered the league as an undrafted free agent in 2016.
It saw Kamalu play 21 snaps on defense and 11 snaps on special teams over two Patriots appearances in December. The hybrid end-slash-tackle remained through Super Bowl LIII.
Kamalu then returned to New England’s practice squad upon clearing waivers on Labor Day weekend.
He was not spotted during practice Thursday.
Kamalu, listed at 6-foot-6 and 295 pounds, is the second member of the Patriots’ practice squad to join another active roster over the past week. Current Texans offensive tackle Dan Skipper preceded him.
Skipper made his debut for Houston last Sunday versus the Indianapolis Colts.
