Rumors linking Stefon Diggs to the New England Patriots reached a fever pitch on Wednesday, but it certainly doesn’t appear that anything is in the pipeline. According to Tom E. Curran of NBC Sports Boston, the Minnesota Vikings still like Diggs, and they have no intention of trading him at this time. The wide receiver only recently signed a five-year extension with Minnesota, and the Vikings think they can still make the playoffs. Trading a quality piece like Diggs wouldn’t make much sense given where their goals are right now. Diggs sparked rumors based on his social media activity that suggested both frustration with Minnesota and a newfound interest in several New England players. He’s off to a slow start, having caught just 13 balls this year, and the Vikings are 2-2 with a floundering offense. For now, it doesn’t seem that there’s any smoke here. This does not, however, explain why Diggs sat out Wednesday’s practice.
