Sunday Night Football, Week 8. Tonight the Green Bay Packers hit the road to take on the Kansas City Chiefs.
This is the epic game that might have been. When the NFL powers that be scheduled this game, it was supposed to be a titanic clash between the old guard magnificent quarterback, Aaron Rodgers, and the new age magnificent quarterback, Patrick Mahomes. That would have been one for the ages. Alas, it was not meant to be. Instead, Mahomes is out with a knee injury, and this becomes the not so epic clash between Aaron Rodgers and Matt Moore. Sigh.
The 5-2 Chiefs righted the ship last week with a dominant win over the lowly Denver Broncos after two straight losses had threatened to derail the Chiefs season. The Chiefs are still a formidable foe at home, with an array of exciting offensive weapons, even without Mahomes.
The 6-1 Packers come into this game riding high, winners of three straight and leaders of the tough NFC North division. Aaron Rodgers is playing his usual sublime brand of football, and the Packers are leaving last year’s disappointing losing season in the rear view mirror.
It’s the Packers and the Chiefs in a clash of two first place football teams on Sunday Night Football.
Enjoy the game everybody.
