Take off your pants and jacket. It’s SNOT time.
This is the time of year to turn the AC down, make the home 65 degrees since it can’t be found anywhere else, wrap the bushes in spiderwebs, gut the pumpkins, search for things around every corner, and watch the spooky stuff.
I think I got it. I think I got the three scary movies for me. First, The Shining. It gets better every time I see it. I love Jack Nicholson’s fits and his thinning air. The Mickey Mouse sweater kills me. Getting cleaned up in the blood red bathroom. The purple and green bathroom is perfect, and I always see the malodorous woman, skin peeling, ruining Mr. Torance’s good time. I listened to the audiobook recently too. The dogman is legitimately awful. Next, is Hereditary. The subtext is great. It doesn’t treat you, the viewer as an imbecile, and has to show you every damn thing. It’s all right there in every scene. It’s pretty funny too. The head smashing into the desk while everyone records it on the phone is hilarious. That entire family never had a chance. Finally, its’ Scream. Singular. The first one. I remember being at my mom’s coworker’s house and them making me close my eyes during the first scene while the VHS spun. The first scene rules. The twist is fun. I finally saw the entire movie after getting the VHS from a pawnshop. God bless single fathers.
Anyways, that’s all I got. Enjoy your Saturday night and use this space to discuss whatever: the Astros air conditioned ALCS, whether or not you like the new The Menzingers album, when this heat is supposed to break, or whatever else you please. Just remember the standard commenting rules apply.
