A couple of roster moves for the Vikings
Yesterday, we passed along the fact that the Minnesota Vikings had five weeks to make a decision about whether or not they were going to bring defensive end Tashawn Bower back to practice with the team.
It took them two days to make their decision.
The Vikings have announced that they have waived Bower from the Non-Football Injury List. He was placed on the NFI List at the start of Training Camp after tearing an Achilles this offseason while working out. The team does not have to make a roster move to fill his spot, as he was not counting against the 53-man roster.
Bower signed with the Vikings as an undrafted free agent in 2017, and spent two seasons with the Vikings. He appeared in seven games and registered one sack.
In a separate roster move, the Vikings have brought wide receiver Davion Davis back to their practice squad. Davis had been promoted to the 53-man roster for a couple of games, but was waived prior to Sunday’s game against Philadelphia when the team needed a linebacker and brought up Cameron Smith from the practice squad. Davis has not yet been active for the Vikings.
