Broncos vs. Chargers injury report: Alexander Johnson may not be able to play

NFL: Tennessee Titans at Denver Broncos Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports

The Denver Broncos may be without Alexander Johnson and maybe even Von Miller as they host the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday.

The news for the Denver Broncos defense just keeps getting worse this week as it looks like they may be without both Alexander Johnson and Von Miller on Sunday when they take on the Los Angeles Chargers.

“He got it late in the Buffalo game,” Head Coach Vic Fangio said of Johnson’s knee injury. “His availability for this week is up in the air. He didn’t practice yesterday and won’t practice today.”

As for Miller, Fangio noted that if he feels good about his knee soreness then he’ll play. On the offensive side of the ball, Ja’Wuan James appeared to be well on his way back into the starting lineup earlier this week. However, Fangio threw some cold water on that idea as well. It sounds like he may be playing in a more limited role than a full time role in his first game back.

“He did fine. I think he—same thing,” Fangio said of James. “He got better as practice wore on. He’s probably a little sore today because he hadn’t worked that hard of late. We’re hopeful that he’ll be able to play some in the game, but still to be determined.”

Meanwhile, on the other side, the Chargers are getting their guys back healthy. Denver is coming off two very physical football games that they lost, so they are definitely a bit banged up heading into this weekend.
