Roster moves on a Tuesday.

The Atlanta Falcons announced Tuesday evening that they’ve promoted wide receiver Brandon Powell to the active roster. Additionally, the team has signed offensive guard Anthony Coyle and safety C.J. Reavis to the practice squad.

Brandon Powell was signed to the Falcons’ practice squad before the 2019 season kicked off. Powell’s a young, speedy wide receiver who recorded 11 receptions for 129 yards in his rookie season with the Detroit Lions. The 5’8 receiver also returned some kicks in Detroit, where he had two punt returns for 5 yards and 2 two kick returns for 43 yards.

Offensive guard Anthony Coyle was recently drafted in the 14th round of the 2020 XFL Draft by the New York Guardians. Coyle was signed by the Houston Texans coming out of Fordham in 2018, but after being cut by Houston later that year, he signed with the Green Bay Packers in 2019. He was eventually cut by the Packers after failing to make their opening week 53-man roster.

Safety C.J. Reavis signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars as an undrafted free agent last offseason. Reavis failed to make the 53-man roster out of training camp and was re-signed to the Jaguars’ practice squad prior to the start of the 2018 season. Reavis played in four games for the Jaguars during his rookie season, recording one tackle. Reavis was released by the Jaguars prior to the start of the 2019 season.
