Dontari Poe suffered a quad injury against the Saints and could be out for the rest of the year, according to reports.
The Carolina Panthers have signed defensive tackle Stacy McGee to their 53-man roster according to a tweet from NFL insider Adam Schefter.
Former Washington and Oakland DT Stacy McGee is signing with the Panthers, per source.

This news comes a few hours after a report from Josina Anderson that states defensive tackle Dontari Poe is expected to have surgery to repair a torn quad that he suffered in last Sunday’s 34-31 loss to the New Orleans Saints
I'm told Panthers DT Dontari Poe is currently electing to have surgery on his torn quad. Surgery is scheduled for Tuesday at 6am in Charlotte, NC, at this time, per source.

Assuming Anderson’s report is accurate — and we have no reason to believe it isn’t — the Panthers signing McGee to their roster makes sense. Poe obviously won’t be able to return to action in 2019 after quad surgery so the Panthers will need to fill his very large void on the defensive line. At 6-foot-3 and 310 pounds, McGee definitely fits that bill.
McGee was drafted in the sixth round (No. 213 overall) of the 2013 NFL Draft by the Oakland Raiders and was recently with Washington before being released in March. He has tallied 116 tackles, four sacks, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries in his NFL career.
The team has not officially announced that Poe is having surgery or that he is being placed on injured reserve, but we’ll update this story when more information is made available.
