TNF: Browns vs Steelers Game Thread

Thursday Night Football, Week 11 . Tonight the Pittsburgh Steelers travel to their neighbors in Ohio to take on the Cleveland Browns.

The Steelers come into this game on a major roll, winners of five of their last six games, their only loss in that stretch an overtime defeat at the hands of the Baltimore Ravens. Since the Steelers were blown out by the Patriots in the season opener, no team has beaten the Steelers by more than 4 points.

The Steelers have survived the loss of three future Hall of Fame offensive talents in the last two years. They have lost Ben Roethlisberger to injury, Le’Veon Bell to free agency, and Antonio Brown via trade, and still the Steelers improbably are right in the thick of a playoff race. This team is remarkable, the ultimate NFL dynasty. Since 1972 the Steelers have a total of 7 losing seasons, and have finished last in their division just once. Jets fans can only dream about what that must feel like,

The Steelers face a Browns team tonight that they have completely dominated over the last 15 years. The Steelers haven’t lost to the Browns since 2014, and since 2004 the Steelers have gone 26-3-1 record against Cleveland.

The Browns come into this game as one of the biggest disappointments of the 2019 NFL season. A trendy pick to win the AFC North coming into the year, instead the Browns are struggling badly, losers of four of their last five games. Browns’ prize second year quarterback Baker Mayfield was expected to make the jump into the upper echelons of NFL quarterbacks this year. Instead he is one of the worst quarterbacks in the NFL, the only starting quarterback in the NFL who has thrown more interceptions than touchdowns when he is not pressured. The playoff berth many were predicting for them in 2019 will be all but lost should the Browns lose at home to the Steelers tonight.

It’s the Browns and the Steelers in an AFC North showdown tonight on Thursday Night Football. Enjoy the game everybody.
