Thursday Night Football, Week 10. Tonight the Los Angeles Chargers make the short trip north to take on the Oakland Raiders in Oakland, California.
The Chargers look to continue the momentum from last week’s trouncing of the Green Bay Packers. The 4-5 Chargers have been a disappointment this year, as many expected them to be contenders for a deep playoff run. The upset over the Packers got the Chargers back into the playoff race, and a win tonight over the Raiders would get them back to .500.
The Raiders have surprised many by being competitive this year. They come into the game off a win against the Detroit Lions. A win tonight would put the Raiders over .500 and just one game behind the division leading Kansas City Chiefs. If the Raiders were to somehow overtake the Chiefs and win the division it would be more than a little surprising, and vindication for the return of Jon “Chucky” Gruden.
It’s the Chargers and the Raiders in an AFC West showdown with major playoff implications for both teams. Enjoy the game everybody.
