Something to be thankful for
It’s Thanksgiving week, and as Vikings fans we can be thankful that so far this season, the Vikings offense has produced more big plays than any other team in the NFL.
Big plays are defined as runs over 10 yards and passes over 20. The Vikings have produced 88 of ‘em so far this season. More than Lamar Jackson and the Ravens. More than Jimmy G and the 49ers. More than Tom Brady and the Patriots.
2017 had it’s share of big plays. So did 2009 with Brett Favre. 1998 may never be eclipsed, because there may never be another Randy Moss. But in 2019 we can be thankful for a collection big play threats on the Vikings offense - Dalvin Cook, Stefon Diggs, Adam Thielen, and yes - Kirk Cousins. Together they accounted for most of the Vikings big plays this season, but guys like Kyle Rudolph, Alexander Mattison, Irv Smith Jr., and Bisi Johnson have added some too.
So, as a little Thanksgiving week appetizer, here is a five minute collection of some of the bigger ones for your viewing pleasure:
