Just two weeks remain in the 2019 NFL regular season as we wrapped up Week 15 Monday night with the Saints delivering a beat down to the Indianapolis Colts.
Week 15 treated us to some important matchups in regards to team’s postseason hopes. The Green Bay Packers virtually eliminated the Chicago Bears with a home victory, and the Houston Texans took control of the AFC South with a win over the Tennessee Titans.

Week 15 Storylines
1. Drew Brees breaks records.
On Monday night, New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees broke the record for most career touchdown passes and the record for single-game completion percentage. Brees recorded touchdown pass number 540, pushing him over Peyton Manning’s mark of 539. His 96.7% completion percentage was also good enough for the NFL record in a single-game. Brees has had an outstanding 2019 season, tossing 21 touchdowns to go with 2447 passing yards and a remarkable 75.1% completion percentage. He has lost just two games since returning from injury back in late October, leading the Saints to an 11-3 record.

2. Sayonara to the Bears, Browns, Raiders, and Rams.
With losses on Sunday, the Bears, Browns, Raiders, and Rams all kissed there chance of a postseason spot goodbye. The Bears suffered a tough loss to the Packers, in which they had a shot to possibly take them game to overtime on the last play of regulation, and the Browns suffered yet another disaster, this time at the hands of the Arizona Cardinals. The Raiders said goodbye to two things on Sunday. Their playoff chances and the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum. The Raiders played their last game in Oakland on Sunday, blowing a double-digit lead and untimely losing to the Jaguars. The defending NFC Champion Los Angeles Rams got blown out of the water by the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday, all but ending their playoff hopes for 2019.

3. Three games for the division next weekend.
With the way the games folded out on Sunday, we have three games in Week 16 that will likely determine who wins the AFC East, NFC North, and NFC East. First in the AFC East, the 10-4 Bills travel to New England to take on the 11-3 Patriots. If New England wins this game, they are AFC East champs once again. In the NFC North, the 11-3 Packers travel to Minnesota to take on the 10-4 Vikings. If Green Bay wins, they are the NFC North champs, if Minnesota pulls out the victory, they still need Green Bay to lose in Week 17 and another victory to become division champs. In the NFC East, the Dallas Cowboys travel to Philadelphia to take on the division rival Eagles. If Dallas wins, they are the first back-to-back NFC East champ since 2004. If the Eagles win, they control their own destiny and need just a win against the Giants in Week 17 to win the division.
Previewing who could go top five in the 2020 NFL Draft.
1. Cincinnati Bengals (1-13) - QB Joe Burrow, LSU
The Cincinnati Bengals have all but locked up the number one spot in the 2020 NFL Draft. With two games to go, the Bengals have a two-game lead over the New York Giants for the number one overall spot. If they do end up picking number one, Joe Burrow is the obvious pick. The Ohio native just won the Heisman Trophy on Saturday night, and has his LSU Tigers as the number one seed in the College Football Playoff. The Bengals need a young quarterback to jump start their rebuild, and Burrow is the perfect fit.
2. New York Giants (3-11) - EDGE Chase Young, Ohio State
This pick is a no-brainier for the New York Giants if Chase Young does declare for the draft. Burrow may be the number one overall pick because he is a quarterback, but there isn’t a better talent in the 2020 draft than Chase Young. The edge rusher has 21.0 tackles for loss to go with 16.5 sacks on the season. The Giants’ defense has been dreadful this season, and Young could come in and be the dynamic pass rusher they are lacking.
3. Miami Dolphins (3-11) - QB Tua Tagovailoa, Alabama
Here is where things get interesting. The Dolphins currently hold the number three pick in the draft, but have a very winnable game on Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals. If Miami wins this game, they will have four wins on the season and could be leapfrogged by the Detroit Lions or Washington Redskins in the draft order. If Miami does stay at number three, despite the injury concerns, Tua Tagovailoa is the choice. If his medicals check out, Miami cannot afford to wait to see if he slips in the draft and risk losing the potential star-quarterback.
4. Washington Redskins (3-11) - OT Andrew Thomas, Georgia
Many mock drafts have the Redskins selecting a weapon for their young quarterback Dwayne Haskins, but I believe they will select someone to protect him. Trent Williams is never going to play for the Redskins again, so Washington needs a left tackle to protect their young signal-caller. Andrew Thomas is the best tackle in the draft, and Washington would be smart to select him here.
5. Detroit Lions (3-10-1) - LB Isaiah Simmons, Clemson
The Detroit Lions can virtually go anywhere with this pick besides quarterback or wide receiver, but I think they go with the extremely versatile linebacker Isaiah Simmons out of Clemson. Simmons can play nearly anywhere on the field and would be a nice cornerstone for the Lions to build their defense on.
