The Browns nice list is a short one following a disheartening loss to the Baltimore Ravens.
The Cleveland Browns ended the home portion of their 2019 season on Sunday with a 31-15 loss to the Baltimore Ravens.
The defeat snapped a four-game home winning streak for the Browns and finally (mercifully?) ended the club’s minuscule playoff chances.
This is normally the space where we would hand out Brownies to the players who did well and Frownies for poor effort, but since it is the holiday season we are going full cliché and making a Naughty or Nice list.
Spoiler alert: a lot of the Browns are getting coal in their stockings this year.
Nice List
Tight end Demetrius Harris - The Browns took an early lead when quarterback Baker Mayfield hit Harris with a one-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter. It was the only pass that Harris caught on three targets, but at least he made it count.
Defensive end Porter Gustin - With the Ravens driving near the end of the first quarter, Gustin recovered a fumble by Baltimore quarterback Lamar Jackson to give the Browns the ball on Baltimore’s 45-yard line. That led to Cleveland’s opening touchdown drive.
Wide receiver Jarvis Landry - Landry finished the day with seven catches for 74 yards. He now has 1,092 yards on the season, and needs 66 yards in the season finale to post his best mark in his NFL career.
Naughty List
Defensive coordinator Steve Wilks (Part 1) - A week after giving up 38 points, 226 rushing yards and 445 yards of total offense against the Arizona Cardinals, Wilks’ defense gave up 31 points, 243 rushing yards and 481 yards of offense to the Ravens.
Defensive coordinator Steve Wilks (Part 2) - With the Browns holding a 6-0 lead with 1:50 to go before halftime, the Browns defense allowed the Ravens to go 63 yards in two plays to score a touchdown. The drive was highlighted by Jackson hitting tight end Mark Andrews for a 39-yard touchdown pass without a single Browns defender in the area.

Defensive coordinator Steve Wilks (Part 3) - Not content to go into the half down just 7-6, the Browns allowed the Ravens to go 75 yards on seven plays for a second touchdown before halftime. That drive only took Baltimore 46 seconds and the touchdown came on yet another pass to Andrews, this time a 14-yarder.
Head coach Freddie Kitchens (Part 1) - That sequence at the end of the first half was set up by the weekly bizarre play calls from the offense. Prior to Baltimore’s first touchdown, the Browns tried some kind of play on third-and-one that might have called for running back Kareem Hunt to throw a halfback option pass. That went about as well as expected, as Hunt was dropped for an eight-yard loss and the Browns punted.

Head coach Freddie Kitchens (Part 2) - After getting the ball back trailing 7-6 and simply needing to run out the clock and get to the half, the Browns had three consecutive incomplete passes - with the Ravens holding no timeouts - to give the ball back to the Ravens with enough time to shred Wilks’ defense with little effort.
Left tackle Greg Robinson - Following the Browns opening touchdown, the defense held and Cleveland took over on their own 21-yard line with a chance to put more points on the board. That plan was short-lived, however, as Robinson committed a holding call on second down and followed that up immediately with a false start. That pushed the Browns back to their own seven-yard line and they punted two plays later.
General manager John Dorsey - Thanks to the work of Dorsey, the Browns have a roster filled with offensive tackles who can’t block, a defensive secondary that can’t cover anyone, and tight ends who can’t catch the ball.
