The Cowboys can’t possibly stick with Brett Maher can they?
Amid a myriad of other issues within the organization, the Dallas Cowboys are struggling with their kicker.
Brett Maher missed his first field goal attempt of the night on Thursday in Dallas’ 31-24 loss to the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field, sending his 42-yard attempt wide right. It marked his 10th miss so far this season, more than any other kicker in a single season over the past four years.
While he did drill a 31-yard field goal later in the night, he sent a kickoff sailing out of bounds — which eventually led the Bears to a touchdown early in the fourth quarter.

There have been a lot of strong words regarding Jerry Jones over the last 24 hours.
David Samson sat down to discuss the latest news surrounding the Dallas Cowboys on his podcast “Nothing Personal with David Samson”, and none of it is good. The Cowboys lost, again to fall to 6-7, and owner and general manager Jerry Jones was not happy following the game but no, he has still not fired head coach Jason Garrett.
Samson always counts on Jones for good material, “We knew Jerry Jones would come for us and give us content after a game like that and he did not disappoint.” He added, “He put the ‘G’ in grumpy.”
With Jones taking on multiple roles with the team, perhaps one too many, Samson questions which role was upset at the three straight losses. “Is that the GM’s who’s tired or is that the owner who’s tired because when you play both roles do you become double-y exhausted?”
The podcast host says the gig is up, it’s time he took a serious “look in the mirror.”

DALLAS — Frustration is boiling over in Dallas.
And it’s evident Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is feeling the heat.
He was salty during a radio interview with 105. 3 The Fan when asked about how badly the Cowboys have played.
”Are you embarrassed as an organization about how the team is playing,” host Cory Mageors asked Jones.
“Hey get your damn act together yourself, OK? We are going to have a good visit this morning, but settle down just a little bit,” said Jones.
Moments later Jones said “I don’t like your attitude” and “I don’t have the patience to jack with you today.”
Prescott suffers multiple injuries in Thursday Night Football.
For the majority of Thursday night, the Dallas Cowboys struggled to move the ball. It was a big reason why “America’s Team” fell to the Chicago Bears in primetime, 31-24. To make matters worse, quarterback Dak Prescott reportedly played through injuries to both hands during the loss.
On Friday, head coach Jason Garrett informed reporters that Prescott injured the index finger on his right hand, and also sprained his left hand, according to Clarence Hill Jr. of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. Garrett says that Prescott was able to get through the game without much of a problem, and he should be good to go against the Los Angeles Rams next Sunday.
Prescott completed 27 of 49 passes for 334 yards and a touchdown, but most of those yards came in garbage time. The Cowboys scored 17 points in the final quarter, which made the game seem much closer than it actually was.

Jason Garrett still has a job on Friday, which means he has a good chance of holding that same position on opening day 2020 if he shows a whiff of progress over the next three games and limps into the playoffs. Jones’s admiration for Garrett is obvious and has been dissected a million different ways—and in his ideal world, Garrett is the man who hands him the next Lombardi Trophy.
But the rest of the names we’ve seen reported and speculated early on have been based in the college game. Meyer makes sense because Jones is likely looking for someone who wants the job, who is used to a kind of subservience (is having Jones as an owner analogous to a university president or cadre of boosters?), who wins wherever they go, who has had a history of innovative ideas offensively and who can make the team into something Jones can sell.

There were plenty of issues in Chicago on Thursday night, but what were the main issues?
The Cowboys have now lost three straight games and Thursday’s 31-24 loss to the Bears is seemingly the worst one of the group, and perhaps the entire season as well.
This team, that once was 3-0, is now 6-7 but still in first place of the NFC East.
