Cowboys now have four players on NFL 100 All-Time Team

Dallas Cowboys

A look back at some Cowboys history.

Since the current edition of the Dallas Cowboys are such a downer, let’s take a trip back in Cowboys history. The NFL is putting together an all-time team of the top 100 players that will consist of “a roster of 100 players and 10 coaches named “The Greatest” in their respective positions.”

The process to select and celebrate the historic team began in early 2018 with the appointment of a 26-person blue-ribbon voting panel made up of coaches, team and front office executives, former players and members of the media with a deep appreciation for the history of the League, its teams and players, as well as a commitment to research.

They have been releasing the names by position group, starting with the running backs and then through the defensive positions.

Of course, Emmitt Smith was among the running backs selected.

The Cowboys didn’t land any defensive ends on the list but two defensive tackles made it. If you’re old like me, you’ll remember these guys playing. One of my all-time favorites, Randy White, aka The Manster, made the list.

The man they call Mr. Cowboy, Bob Lilly, was also on the list.

Dallas didn’t get any linebackers or safeties on the list, but a cornerback who spent part of his career in Dallas made it, Deion Sanders.

They’ll start naming the offensive side of the ball soon (besides the running backs which they’ve already done).

Of all the Cowboys defensive players who didn’t make the list, which one do you think was most deserving?
