Daily Norseman FanPulse: Slowly moving upward

NFL: Minnesota Vikings at Los Angeles Chargers Jake Roth-USA TODAY Sports

Still not great, but getting better

We’re getting towards the end of the year, and our FanPulse vote for this week for the Minnesota Vikings shows things are trending in the proper direction.

According to our vote this week, after a couple weeks of being stuck at 67%, the huge victory over the Chargers brought some optimism with it, as 72% of our respondents are now confident in the direction of the team. I may be wrong, but I have a feeling that if the Vikings can pull off a victory on Monday night that number is going to go up a lot.

We had a national question this week as well, and unlike most weeks, the results of this one were actually relatively close. The question was “Should division winners host playoff games regardless of record?”

The “yes” side won out this time around, but as you can see it wasn’t a blowout win or anything. A lot of our national questions have been pretty lopsided.

I understand that winning your division should mean something, but given the way things have shaken out this year, it’s going to be a little frustrating to see a Vikings team that could have as many as 12 wins forced to go on the road and win three road games to make it to the Super Bowl while winning a dumpster fire like the NFC East with an 8-8 record means that you get to be at home on Wild Card Weekend.

Since I know that not all of you are FanPulse respondents, I’ll present the question to you again here for DN readers to answer independent of the rest of the SB Nation universe.

That’s everything for our FanPulse for this week, folks. As I said earlier, hopefully next week we’ll be back here to celebrate a significant boost in confidence.
